Perhaps the only political song by The Details, it's about the tragic lifespan of a nation - thus far - summed up in a rather romantic fable format by a saddened patriot. It features theremin, recorder (blockflote), rich harmonies, cello, viola, violin. Music & lyrics by Matei Tibacu-Blendea.

To the new EU regime

Whose reflections can be seen

And we have the salesmen up there
Who take turns to run for office

We criticize any country
That’s how we take out our envy
Why is theirs clean and ours isn’t?

On escalators we stand on the left
And we’re widely suspected of theft
Romanians are easy to spot, cause they act
Unpleasant

It’s time for our redesign
Buy us and put up a sign
That says “under renovation”

Romania is for sale, not for rent
For someone to represent
Our needs, our values, our vacation nation

So we have the broke pensioners here
And the rich corrupt statesmen there
And the spoiled thugs’ children here
A middle class is hard to spot

And we had nostalgia hit hard
On communist opposers
When certainty of the next meal
Has gone along with their jobs
